THE SPRUCE LODGE POLICIES

We want you to be comfortable and happy here. Have a question? Need a hairdryer? More TP? LET US KNOW! When possible, kindly come to the front desk between 4 pm and 8 pm (unless it is an emergency.) We'd like to get your concerns taken care of before the front desk agent leaves for the night. Our friendly innkeepers do live on-site and are available 24 hours a day for emergencies, but please come to the front desk before 8 pm when possible. The innkeeper's cell number is 719-480-1858.

The free continental breakfast is available in the foyer/sunroom of the main building from 4 am-10 am.

Check-out procedure: Please drop your key in the room key drop box to the right of the main front door before 11 am. Please do not take your key with you when you check out! There is a $25 fee for each lost key.

LODGING POLICIES

PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK YOUR DATES BEFORE COMPLETING YOUR RESERVATION!!

A 4% credit card processing fee is added to every reservation. This fee can be waived only if you pay cash IN PERSON at CHECK-IN on the day of your arrival between 4 pm and 8 pm. After 8 pm on the day of your arrival, the entire amount will be charged to the credit card on file and can not be refunded. Thank you in advance for your understanding!

The Spruce Lodge Hotel is an exclusive property where every guest reservation is both important and special to us. If your travel plans change and you must cancel your reservation, please call us at least 2 (two) days* prior to your arrival date to cancel your reservation. Please see below for Holiday cancellation policies.

***In the unlikely event that you must cancel with less than two (2) days notice, shorten your stay, check out early or if you have reserved the wrong dates, please understand that we must ask you to take responsibility for your entire reservation. YOU MUST CANCEL THROUGH THE SITE YOU BOOKED ON. Contact booking.com or Expedia if your reservations were made through them. DO NOT EMAIL US TO CANCEL, YOUR EMAIL MAY NOT BE RECEIVED AND YOU WILL STILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR RESERVATION. If you booked through our website or over the phone, you must call our innkeepers at 719-480-1858.

We can not offer refunds for early departure.*** Please understand, unlike large hotels, we do not overbook our rooms. We are holding your room(s) and are counting on you to use them and pay for them. We highly encourage guests purchase travel insurance which will reimburse for family emergencies, vehicle trouble, and other last-minute change of travel plans.
Rates/policies are subject to change and vary during high impact periods. *14 days notice of cancellation is required for holidays and special events such as December 20-January 5th, Spring Break (the month of March), and the week of 4th of July. 7 days notice is required for all other holiday periods resulting in a long holiday weekend. We are sorry, but with only 13 units we must be VERY FIRM with our cancellation policies. Please make sure your travel plans are solid before making your reservation. PLEASE
NOTE: Several third-party sites such as Expedia and Booking.com offer deeply discounted non-refundable rates. These reservations, once booked, CAN NOT be changed, canceled, or edited regardless of the cancellation policies listed above. Please be 100% sure of your plans before reserving a discounted, non-refundable room. Even COVID-related emergencies or family emergencies will not qualify for cancellation if you book a non-refundable room or if you are within the stated cancellation policies above.

The front desk is typically staffed from 4-8 pm, If you have not arrived when the front desk closes, we will leave a personalized note with your key, Wi-Fi password, and other pertinent information pinned to the red front door of the main building. There's no need to call and let us know you are running late, but please DO call 719-480-1858 if you have any trouble with your after-hours express check-in. Check-out time is 11:00 AM. Early check-in or late check-out can usually be accommodated with advance notice and a $25 fee, (firm).

_________Absolutely No Smoking anything inside any of our buildings. All rooms are strictly non-smoking. ; This applies to marijuana! An automatic minimum of $150 will be charged if your room smells of cigarettes or marijuana. Additional charges will apply if additional cleaning and airing are required.

_________ No Pets are allowed in the historic building Jacuzzi suites. Please see room descriptions for details and please specify if you are bringing a pet. Kindly keep your pets off the beds and furniture, and do not leave your dog unattended in the room, as they tend to bark and disturb the neighbors. Additional charges for additional cleaning, laundering, and/or noise complaints will be added at the discretion of the owners. Please be responsible and clean up after your pet. Thank you.

Our entire facility is family-friendly and children are welcome in any and all of our rooms. Please be respectful of your neighbors and be aware of the noise level of voices and televisions/music. Quiet time is 10 pm-8 am.

CHILDREN & PETS
Children are welcome with an accompanying adult. Children age 5 and under stay free. Pets are welcome. Pets must weigh under 100 pounds. At The Spruce Lodge we understand that your pet is part of your family. There is no extra charge for Fido, and we do not place limitations on the size of your pets. Please understand, however, that a credit card is required at checkin for any messes or damages. Any additional cleaning, airing, shampooing of carpets, replacement of screen doors, etc WILL be charged at a rate of $50 hour with a $50 minimum charge. Please be respectful and keep your pets off the furniture inclluding the beds and sofas. Additional time vaccuming the sofas and laundering fur-laden linnens will be charged at $50 as well. The designated pet walking area is out near the railroad tracks. PLEASE clean up any messes left on the landscaped grounds around the guest areas of all the buildings. Thank you.
